Do pork tacos contain the same exact meat as bacon?

You probably bought canadian bacon or some kind of hamsteak. What you need is a pork roast. Like a boston . It must have some fat content. (Now this will require some time, but you will have some great pork for tacos). Soak it in a brine (water with a cup of salt and half cup of sugar - throw in the garlic cloves, bay leaves, whole peppercorns) overnight. Remove it from the brine and towel it totally dry with paper towels. Make a 'dry rub' of mexican style dry spices that you like. Bake covered at a low temp (between 225 and 250) for several hours, depending on the size of your roast. It will be fall-apart tender. Pull a chunk of meat off of it and shred it with a couple forks and you got great pork for tacos.
