Why were the jews blamed for WWI by the Germans?

Not by all the Germans, just by the Nazis. The Nazis wanted to get rid of the Jews, and in order to do so they had to convince their fellow Germans - and other Europeans - that the Jews were at the root of everything bad that had happened from the Crucifixion of Christ to the First World War and Germany's defeat and humiliation.
