I understand that the Oedipus complex is universal, but how is it resolved in Eastern cultures?

You again? Just kidding. A lot of studies have shown that Eastern cultures having a heavier leaning towards collectivism. That the individual is part of something bigger than themselves at all levels. Whether they are a citizen of a nation or a member of a family. For the Oedipal Complex this may translate to sacking our wants in order to fulfill obligations to the collective. So you might want to be nice to other ladies but that "hurts" the needs of the collective (family etc, etc). So you don't do it. Ideally of course.
